Family Mediation Services
Mediation is a confidential, self-determined process where a neutral facilitates communication and negotiation to assist the parties in resolving disputes. A Mediator does not make decisions for the parties or offer legal advice. In addition, the mediator cannot file court paperwork. When an agreement is reached, the mediator will put the agreement in writing for the parties to sign. The parties will receive a copy of the signed agreement.
Susan schedules initial mediation sessions for three-hour blocks of time. There is a three-hour minimum charge. Subsequent sessions may be necessary in order to address all of the issues presented. Time frames for subsequent sessions will be determined by the number of issues presented or the amount of time needed to complete the details of an agreement. When inquiring about mediation, please include the contact information for the secondary party. Once both parties agree to attend mediation, a session can be scheduled. It will typically take at least 4-6 weeks from the time of inquiry to the mediation date. To inquire about mediation, submit a contact form.
Parenting Consultant Services
Parents may incorporate the services of a parenting consultant to facilitate agreements, offer coaching or decide issues when the parents are unable to agree. A court order is required for this service. Both parents must agree to the appointment of a parenting consultant and the individual parenting consultant they wish to appoint. The appointment typically lasts for a two-year term. However, some parents request a different term, depending on the age of their child and other factors.
Along with the court order, parents are required to pay a retainer equal to 10 hours' worth of PC work, an initial two-hour meeting fee, and one time file setup fee. The cost is split between parents unless parents agree to or the court has allocated a different distribution. Parents must also sign a fee agreement before services will begin. To inquire about PC services, please submit a contact form. Be sure to include the contact information for your co-parent so that a conflict check can be completed.

A parenting time expeditor is limited to addressing parenting time disputes that are not addressed in court orders.
